About Dr Dharshen Naicker

Dr Naicker completed his undergraduate training at the University of Cape Town in 2008. He was awarded his MBCHB degree with distinction in the Pre Clinical Examinations, the Clinical Examinations, the Final Clinical Examinations and the degree awarded with First Class Honours.

Dr Naicker has been working in the field of Orthopaedic Surgery since 2011, where he worked as a medical officer in KZN. In 2016 Dr Naicker moved to Johannesburg to complete his formal Orthopaedic Specialist training at the University of the Witwatersrand.

During this time he gained a vast amount of experience in the management of Orthopaedic Conditions and was awarded the Registrar Prize by the WITS Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr Naicker completed his specialist training in 2019 with the successful completion of his Fellowship of the College of Orthopaedic Surgeons and his Master of Medicine in Orthopaedic Surgery.

On completion of his Specialist Orthopaedic Training Dr Naicker was awarded a fellowship in Hand Surgery at the University of the Witwatersrand which he successfully completed in 2020, after which he was invited to stay on a Specialist Hand Surgeon.

Dr Naicker is actively involved in academics, lecturing to both undergraduate and training specialists at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is also a member of the South African Orthopaedic Association and the South African Society for Surgery of the Hand.
